Compressed-Air Cost in Air-Gauging Systems
Air-gauge cost depends on point-of-use flow and time, not only compressor power. A useful assessment measures active and idle states, simultaneous gauge operation and the plant’s validated cost per delivered air volume.

Engineering workflow
- Measure flow at representative pressure and operation.
- Separate active measurement time from idle flow.
- Use a plant-approved cost per 1,000 m³.
- Verify that any shut-off restores stable measurement conditions.
Worked example
A 25 L/min gauge running 16 hours/day for 300 days uses 7,200 m³/year. Ten identical simultaneous gauges use 72,000 m³/year before leakage and diversity adjustments.
